T is for Tenacity.

"Let me tell you the secret that has led me to my goal. My strength lies solely in my tenacity."
- Louis Pasteur

So it has been forever since I've posted. Why? Because I fell off the wagon again. I got about halfway through P90X and my life caught up with me and I gave in to the snooze button.

But I'm back. Today was my last Day One. I took my before pictures yesterday and I'm in this with all the tenacity I can muster. However, I'm altering the P90X routine a little. You see, my wife has Turbo Fire and has always wanted me to do it with her. But I'm not in this to lose weight. I want to build muscle. But I know that part of building good, lean muscle is burning some of that bad fat that I'm storing up. In other words, I hate cardio, but I know it's good for me. Besides, how am I ever going to run in Bloomsday if I don't work on my cardio?

The other day I tried out HIIT 15. Let's just say I didn't puke and that is quite promising for me. So I'm replacing Plyo X and Kenpo X with some Turbo Fire workouts. Not only that, but on my recovery weeks I'm going to work more on cardio by working out with a couple HIITs and a couple Fires along with Core Synergistics and Yoga X. So my recovery weeks will really be more like my heart weeks.

I'm pretty excited about this and am going to give it my all. Today I did Chest & Back and Ab Ripper X. I went in with the mindset of doing my best and forgetting the rest. I also had some false hopes of doing nearly all of the exercises in Ab Ripper X. Well, I did my best and I'm looking forward to my improvement. Chest & Back was tough. Having not worked out for the past several months, I was tough getting through the workouts. But I made it, and no worse than the last time I worked out!

Getting up this morning was the hardest part. I didn't sleep very well last night, so I was very tempted to hit that evil snooze button. But with that tenacity, I got up, rubbed the sleep from my eyes and did my best! That's all that anyone can ask; to do their best.

Well, tomorrow is another day and I believe it's Fire 45 EZ for me. Chalene will kick my butt I'm sure, but I know I can do it. (Heck, if I can make it through a HIIT workout without puking, I should be good to go!)

I've decided. I've committed. I plan to succeed!
